Every week
- Clear the seats and vacuum with a soft brush attachment.
- Remove dust before it settles into the stitching.
- Clean stains straight away, before they dry.
PU and PVC synthetic leather
- A microfibre cloth with lukewarm water and mild soap.
- Dry afterwards with a dry cloth.
- Avoid petrol, solvents and strong alcohol.
Fabric
- A dedicated upholstery cleaner in small amounts, without soaking the fabric.
- Blot the stain with a clean cloth instead of rubbing.
- Leave the car slightly open until it is dry.
Genuine leather
- A dedicated leather cleaner, followed by a leather conditioner every few months.
- Test any product on a hidden area first.
Floor mats
- Rubber mats: wash with soap and water and dry well.
- Carpet mats: vacuum and brush, and use carpet cleaner for stains.
- Put the mat back in place and secure it so it never slides under the pedals.
Things to avoid
- Long periods of direct sun without shade.
- Hard scrubbing brushes on the stitching.
- Closing the car while the upholstery is still wet.
