How to choose the right car cover size
Measure your car properly, understand the types of cover, and the details that matter for a good fit.

Why size matters
A cover that is too loose flaps in the wind and rubs the paint; one that is too tight strains and tears early. The right size fits the car without stretching and without blowing off.
The car’s name alone is not enough: the same model can be a saloon or a hatchback, and some cars changed size between generations.
How to measure
Use a long tape measure and record:
- Length: from the furthest point of the front bumper to the furthest point of the rear.
- Width: the widest point of the body, without the mirrors.
- Height: from the ground to the highest point of the roof (without removable roof bars).
Write the measurements in centimetres and compare them with the size table on the product page.
Types of cover
- Indoor cover: light, protects against dust in a garage.
- Outdoor cover: heavier fabric and more layers for sun and dust. How well it sheds rain depends on the material, so read the specification written on the product itself.
- Lined cover: a soft inner lining that reduces friction against the paint.
S, M, L and XL are not standard between manufacturers, so rely on the size in centimetres, not the letter.
Details that make a difference
- Mirror pockets help the cover stay in place.
- An elastic hem and an under-body strap reduce movement in the wind.
- If your car has a fixed aerial, roof bars or large mirrors, tell us before you choose.
- Work vehicles, vans and pickups usually need special sizes.
Not sure?
If the product says “Needs a size check” or there is no fitment data for your car, send us the model, year and measurements and we will tell you what fits before you order.
